The world is once again in shock at the news coming out of the Middle East. This time it’s from the small but influential nation of Hamas, which a few days ago reportedly helped to behead babies in the Gaza Strip.
The story is said to have originated from US President Joe Biden, who stated in a press address that he had received direct evidence of the transgressions committed by Hamas. That said, no official statement from Government sources has been made as of yet, and no new evidence has been presented from the US.
Despite this, the news has still managed to shock the world due to its sheer brutality, and has led to some criticism of the President’s response.
One particular criticism is that he has not done enough to confront the situation, by making a call for a full-scale investigation into the actions of Hamas. His supporters have responded by pointing out, that the US does not have any responsibility towards the conflict, and that it is an internal problem for the Palestinians to deal with.
There have now been several reports of babies who were beheaded in the Gaza Strip, but none of them have been officially confirmed by the US Government. This lack of clarity has further undermined the President’s response to the situation, and has prompted many to express their dismay at the situation.
It’s a difficult and morally abhorrent situation, and one that needs to have its aspects fully investigated and its perpetrators brought to justice. In the meantime though, it appears as if the US President will most likely continue to remain silent on the matter. It’ll be interesting to see if any new evidence emerges that could cast some light on the situation.
