Fireweed Identifies Drill Targets at The Gayna Project, NWT Fireweed Zinc Ltd. (TSX.V: FWZ) has identified numerous drill targets through its systematic soil geochemical survey of the Gayna Project located in the Northwest Territories. The project is located in the Taltson Magmatic Zone, which is known for hosting several base and precious metal deposits. The soil geochemical survey of the Gayna project has identified numerous drill targets and has identified highly anomalous zinc values over large areas. Zinc values that exceed 500 ppm have been reported in surface soil samples within a 5 km radius of the main target area. In addition, Fireweed has been able to increase the size and extent of anomalies that were previously identified in previous surveys. These anomalous soil samples have revealed the presence of high-grade vein systems and the presence of large disseminated sulphide mineralization. Fireweed has also reported high-grade samples at the Knife Lake project, Saskatchewan, which is located about 64 km southeast of the Gayna project. The high-grade samples include zinc levels up to 11.2%, silver up to 864 ppm, copper up to 3%, lead up to 2.6%, and gold up to 0.071 g/t. These results suggest that the Knife Lake project could potentially represent a significant VMS target and have the potential to be drilled.
