This approach could potentially backfire though, as Johnson’s popularity with the base continues to grow.
The past year has seen a wave of progressive change in the Democratic Party, and Speaker Johnson has been in the vanguard. Whether or not the Democratic leadership’s attempts to make him a boogeyman will prove successful remains to be seen. It’s important for all Democratic voters to recognize the political games being played and make sure their voices are heard.
