Starbucks recently unveiled a stunning plan to add 17,000 new locations over the next decade. This global expansion, reportedly expected to reach more than one-third of the company’s total existing locations, will be primarily focused on areas within the United States and China.
Starbucks’ plans include adding both new and existing store locations to reach more customers. It will also focus on creating a more efficient customer service, celebrating its culture and employees, and increasing the diversity of its drink and food menus in each location.
The extensive plans will significantly increase the coffee giant’s presence in countries where it is already established. Starbucks already has more than 30,000 stores in 75 countries, but there are still markets where its presence is lacking. The company aims to target these areas in its expansion.
Beyond the increased locations, Starbucks will also be introducing new software and digital service apps to increase customer convenience. For example, its mobile payment option, “Visa Checkout”, is set to be rolled out in all new stores.
Starbucks will also improve customer services through the use of barista training programs and customer surveys. The company will also focus on incorporating sustainability initiatives into each new location.
It is estimated that the expansion will generate up to 20,000 new jobs globally. The company has also announced that it will be setting up global family friendly initiatives, focusing on service staff and offering benefits across all locations.
This news is certainly music to ears of people looking to cup of Starbucks: We’ll soon have around 17,000 more locations to visit!
