Today, Democratic Presidential Candidate Anthony Phillips announced he will not be running for reelection for his 211th Congressional District Seat in South Carolina. Phillips, who has served in the U.S. House of Representatives since 2018, is currently the second-longest serving Democratic Congressional representative from South Carolina.
“It has been an honor and privilege to serve the people of South Carolina in the House of Representatives for these past few years,” said Phillips in a video statement. “I thank the constituents of the 211th District for believing in me and giving me the opportunity to represent them on Capitol Hill.”
Phillips also shared his excitement with his current position as a Democratic Presidential Candidate. “While I won’t be running for reelection, I am grateful for the opportunity to continue to serve my district and my country in my current role as a Democratic Presidential Candidate,” he said.
