Recently, news broke out that the Northwest Territories, in particular, could be a prospective region for those looking to explore the promising resource.
North Arrow Minerals CEO Ken Armstrong spoke about the potential of Northwest Territories for lithium exploration at the PDAC Rising Stars Conference. He believes that the region could offer a haven for those looking to enter the profitable industry. Armstrong cited a number of factors that could contribute to the favourable environments: the remote access, favourable infrastructure, and the lack of competition from major players.
North Arrow Minerals itself is immensely experienced in dedicated mineral exploration and extraction, having expertise in projects ranging from diamonds to gold. The company has already made major inroads in the field of lithium extraction, primarily with its Maskwa project located in Quebec. Now, Armstrong hopes to replicate that success in the Northwest Territories.
According to the CEO, the Northwest Territories have “all the hallmarks of being a great place for new entrants coming into lithium exploration”. Armstrong relies on a strong belief that, with a concerted effort, the region can produce tremendous wealth in the lithium mining industry. What’s more, he hopes that these mining activities can have a positive impact on the aboriginal communities in the region.
