The New Jersey Democrat Organization had some pivotal news to announce; a recent endorsement of Tammy Murphy in the upcoming election. Former Chairman of the organization, Robert Menendez, proudly granted her the endorsement stating his approval of her vision and enthusiasm.
This endorsement is particularly noteworthy given that the organization, founded in 1867, is the oldest African American political organization in the United States. According to Menendez, his faith in Murphy comes from having worked alongside her during his time as Chairman. His words to those in attendance during the announcement were:
“I have seen firsthand that her enthusiasm for building a better New Jersey is contagious. No doubt that she is the best candidate for this race.”
Murphy, who is a strong advocate for affordable housing and public education, felt humbled to have received such positive attention from the organization. She spoke of her dedication towards fulfilling Menendez’ vision for New Jersey:
“My gratitude for Robert Menendez is profound. His commitment to helping those in need, as well as his desire to make our state a better place, is why I accepted the endorsement. I am determined to give my all and to bring about successful change.”
The endorsement from the New Jersey Democrat Organization will likely garner Murphy a substantial base of support. Menendez understands this will give Murphy a leg up in the election and stated,
“I believe that this endorsement marks a historic milestone. The collaboration between the organization and Tammy Murphy is something that puts her in the position to make a real difference in terms of creating a better environment for citizens in our state.”
It is no surprise that the NJDO has fully endorsed Murphy. Given her track record of progressive policy and her dedication to creating a thriving New Jersey, it serves as a reminder that our elected officials care about improving the lives of residents of the Garden State.
